Examinations
While we recognise that examinations are helpful in a way to ascertain what children know and teach them accordingly, the school is not ‘too’ examination oriented.
The following views summarize The Adhyayan Academy Policy on examinations:
We understand that examinations nowadays are becoming very stressful for the students. We also understand that they are not perfect. So there won’t be any high stakes testing.
The teachers will not teach to the ‘examination’, going away from stimulating and meaningful instruction.
The school will have its own design of examinations. The methods and patterns of the examinations will be decided by the teachers based on the CBSE syllabus requirements and the school's assessment policies.
Mark of Excellence
The School recognizes exceptional efforts and high achievements by students. Excellent work and behaviour or recorded by the teachers.
Assessment and Reporting
The Adhyayan Academy Student Assessment and Reporting System provides information about the student's progress to the teacher, the student and the parents on a regular and systematic basis, The school is also committed to alert the parents immediately if there is any problem. Parents will receive their children’s main reports by post. The school will also encourage the parents to discuss their children's progress with concerned teachers as and when necessary.
Student assessment takes place regularly and is both formative and summative. There is a grading system for assignments and periodic tests given to students. The presentations and projects by the students will also be graded. These grades have equal weightage with the annual examination and will appear on the reports.
Apart from providing a brief profile of the student, the school reports will include an achievement grade and an effort grade together with a detailed comment on the student's performance in each subject and in co-curricular activities. These are issued at the end of each term.
